Position Summary:
The Database Manager plays a key role in advancing ALS United Greater New York’s mission by ensuring the smooth running of all database systems. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy within our data via imports and exports, leading data hygienic projects, and innovating new data points to capture and report on. The Database Manager will work cross-departmentally for reporting, data refinement, and streamlining processes. Additionally, responsible for managing the database duties (gift entry, acknowledgement letter process) of the Office Manager/Database Coordinator. Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, this full-time hybrid position is based in our Manhattan office. The ideal candidate has previous experience with non profit database management and manipulation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Database Responsibilities:
- Manage all data sync functionality between Luminate Online, Raiser's Edge NXT, and Quorum using Omatic Cloud, ImportOmatic, and FileZilla
- Build and run queries/exports, reports, dashboards, and email and mailing lists for Administrative, Development, and Care Services departments
- Create and manage security groups and permissions across both Luminate Online and Raiser’s Edge NXT, ensuring staff have the appropriate roles for areas of databases they need to access
- Keep SOPs for all database usage up to date, simplifying and segmenting based on staff function and workflow
- Maintain integrity across Luminate Online, Raiser's Edge NXT, and Quorum Advocacy database through routine data cleanup and duplicate management
- Serve as a back-up for gift entry during high volume time periods or due to PTO
- Educate staff on new CRM features, and provide quarterly training sessions when new updates are released
- Support the Chief Care Services Officer in CRM utilization and enforcing new protocols for regional teams' data entry
- Assist the Office Manager/Database Coordinator with the acknowledgement letter process
- Proactively innovate data processing needs
- Manage gift batches for both online and offline gifts, as well as verifying placement and coding of gifts synced from Omatic Cloud and ImportOmatic
- Update tables, custom fields, and other sources of coding records
- Update campaign coding in Omatic formulas annually for TeamRaiser-related events
- Manage advocacy communication preferences for patients, Relation to patients, and those interested in advocacy between Luminate Online and Quorum using FileZilla
Other Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff at all levels
- Attendance at some night & weekend meetings & events, as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in database management. Previous experience working with Non Profit CRMs; Raiser's Edge NXT and Luminate Online a plus
- Bachelors degree in systems or another degree with pertinent database experience
- Working knowledge of data integration tools such as Omatic, and familiarity with basic file transfer protocols (e.g., FileZilla)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Self-motivated, high-energy, and results-oriented
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to work quickly and accurately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
